Town Hall

Castellfort

The primitive town hall or medieval Casa del Consejo was located in a building next to the Gateway and “Presó” Tower. It was built in the early 18th century by renovating an old house.  This building currently houses the Castellfort town hall and still conserves the details of its ancient medieval architecture.

It currently has two facades: the largest opens onto the square opposite the church with an entrance to the administrative outbuildings through a Gothic-looking door with large voussoirs.

The smaller facade is more interesting artistically as it has a large, truncated arch with moulded voussoirs and imposts over ashlar jambs. A door with a lintel going down to the jail cells can also be seen. Two windows with a sill and a wooden eave featuring a double corbel.
