Old Castle

La Torre d' En Besora

The remains of the old medieval wall which protected the town can be visited, as can the old tower arch, which made up part of the original building which is known here as “the castle”. There is also the parish church, which has some architectural displays of the old 13th century temple that made up part of the municipality’s defensive network.

The building of the present-day parish temple used a large amount of the stones and arches from the building of “the castle” and the wall’s fortified walls.

A series of recent archaeological evidence provides the news of a prior origin, which could place it in the Iberian Age.
