Wine and Cooperage Interpretation Centre

Sant Jordi / San Jorge

We are the last cooper active in the Comunidad Valenciana. We make and repair barrels, and we also do guided visits with wine tastings and other products from the area.

The guided visit lasts an hour and a half and we have Spanish and foreign groups. We are prepared to do the visit in various languages, updated 2015 prices for guided visits: Groups €3 per person and individuals €5 per person.

"Discover how wine is made and how the barrels that will keep it until it is ready for tasting are made; and be impressed by the two thousand-year-old olive trees that preside over the cooperage and the 33 varieties of old grapes that have been recovered.

Enter a giant 60,000 litre fermentation vat and get to know the Maestrat better with our little video (hª of Carlón wine, traditions and customs). Enter the winery, passing through a wine press converted into a spiral staircase. You will also visit the "dry stone" shepherd huts and see the old cart with the carriers, fermentation tanks and various types of presses".
