Monumental elm tree

The Castellnovo monumental elm tree dates back to 1812 and was planted in the center of the square which now bears its name as a commemoration of the Constitution of Cadiz. By the middle of the twentieth century the elm tree suffered the loss of wood from the trunk because of a fire in the shaft that the neighbors managed to contain and save the specimen.

The tree has a height of 12.20 m, with a trunk perimeter of 5.75 m, the radius of its crown being greater with 9 m, and occupying an area of 240 square meters.
