Alcudia Castle

Declared a Site of Cultural Interest - Алькудиа-де-Вео

The ruins are now almost entirely covered by thick vegetation.  They are found on top of a steep hill near the village on the left bank of the river.

Despite the lack of documentation, it’s not doubt of Islamic origin. The ruins include an imposing door which reflects the importance and size it must have had during its glory days.

Almost the entire perimeter of the walled enclosure can still be seen as well as the tribute tower and other outbuildings.

Because of the location and evocative ruins, it’s one of the most beautiful places in the Sierra Espadán.
