Artana

The first traces of the settlement date back to the Mesolithic age. The Mesolithic, Bronze, Iberian and Roman ages are all present in the remains that have been found. In 1242 Artana is conquered by King Jaime I, but the Moors continue to live there 1609, when they are expelled. In 1611 new settlers arrive, from which most of the present-day inhabitants are descended.
