Prison Tower and walls

Declared Assets of Cultural Interest - Atzeneta del Maestrat

The Prison Tower is erected in the lowest area of the town; the walls are mainly extended by the Montesta Street, next to the Parish Church. They do not have a certain origin, but similarities with the terraced church, dated from the 12th century, can be observed.

The square-based tower still has the access door and some windows. The interior hoses a staircase that communicates the upper floors. It is attached to the most ancient dwelling complex in the town and is relatively in good condition.
