St. Agatha Chapel

Вальибона

The St. Agatha Chapel is in the mountains of the same name, formerly known as Avinsilona, some 1,175 metres in altitude. This chapel is considered one of the best examples of Romanesque Reconquista style. The large door stands out for because it’s made of well-worked ashlar and because it’s right between a buttress and the hermitage house. Inside, there’s an altar with a niche for the image as well as a choir and a small pulpit that has been partially destroyed just as part of the chapel flooring has been destroyed. In recent years, people have started doing the romeria again.  It’s now done on the Monday of the August festival although it used to take place on the Monday after Whitsun.
