San Antonio


In January, the closest weekend to the 17th, festivities are held in honour of San Antonio Abad. The weekend culminates with an enormous bonfire in the Carlos Fabra Square, accompanied by the blessing of animals in the Church Square and the distribution of cakes by the bonfire. The village of Villahermosa is known for gathering a greater amount of animals each year, mainly horses. Around midnight, there is a toro embolado followed by a popular verbena organised by the quintos and quintas of the village. 

On Sunday, there is a procession to the San Antonio Hermitage accompanied by the music band Jose Pradas, where amass is held. Next, the donation collection is carried out around the houses of the village. In the afternoon and to finish with the schedule, there is a typical auction in the town hall square.
