Parish Church

Vallat

Dedicated to the town’s patron saint, St John the Evangelist, this Corinthian style church was built in the 18th-century. It has a central nave with a pulpit, main altar, chapel, sacristy and a choir at the rear. We know that the church was built by the people of Vallat. Its bells were cast in the Plaza de Horno, and their impressive sound is due to the silver coins donated by the locals for their forging. The church clock was a present from a mayor who had promised to reward the people if he was elected.
