Membrillera House

Vinaròs

It is a noble house popularly known as "Membrillera House" or "Les Coroneles". This house has a ground floor entrance, a main floor and a balcony with five windows assembled by arches. On the façade, there is a stone in which we can read the year 1652, and it has been placed next to a Maltesse Cross, which suggests that the rock has been reused. The heraldic shield on the façade belongs to D.J.M Febrerr Calderón, the Gironella Marquis (1828-1887), descendant of the Febrer de la Torre’s family. Recently restored, it is now the headquarters of the Fundació Caixa Vinaròs. Inside the house, we have tried to capture the economic past of the town with permanent exhibitions about agriculture, trade, industry and fishing. We should note the stone of the façade, which dates back to 1652 and the shield.
